Please refer to our manual and data sheet above as some questions may be answered within these supporting documents.
Do you supply spare parts?
We do not provide spare parts.
We do not supply gaskets, membranes, or electrodes, but there are templates for both shipped with the unit which allows you to cut your own.
What is included?
For parts list please see the user manual above for information.
What is the typical flow rate in ml/min is acceptable when using the C-Flow 5×5 and 1×1?
For a 5×5 the flow rate is typically 150 to 3000 ml/min and for our 1×1 cell the flow rate is 30 to 600 ml/min.
Of course this depends upon fluid properties and if you reach any other limit such as pressure.
What is the lead time for delivery?
C-Flow 5×5 or 1×1 cells are normally in stock. (cPVC bodied versions)
What can the cells be used for:
It is a general purpose divided electrochemical cell designed for processing liquid electrolytes.
What is the highest achievable current density?
For 15A maximum current and 25 sq.cm electrode area, this gives a current density of 6000 A/m2 (600 mA/cm2). Note current and current density are limited by the maximum voltage for exposed terminals and the resultant temperature of the cell.
Where can I get reference electrodes from?
Reference Electrodes: 1.6 mm diameter versions:
https://2in.com/products/reference/reference.html
UK distributor – LF-1.6-100
https://www.alvatek.co.uk/electrochemistry-accessories/electrodes/reference-electrodes/leak-free-electrodes/
What is the lugin capillary size?
Same as the reference electrode size as it goes through the same fitting
What is the maximum voltage per cell?
Please see the user manual above for information.
Is there a Porous Transport Layer for the cathode and anode?
NO, the user could bond a porous layer to the solid electrodes or fill the whole flow cavity (electrode to membrane) with a porous material such as carbon felt.
Can the catalyst coated membrane be in the center of the cell without any bending or thermoforming?
Yes, CCMs could be sandwiched in the interface instead of a conventional membrane. The interface is flat with sealing by flat gaskets and/or o’rings.
